Therefore, we are now looking for experienced Manufacturing Quality Engineers who will play an important role in managing product quality of our new and existing products at our manufacturers and suppliers. About the role

We are looking for experienced Manufacturing Quality Engineers.

The right candidate for this position at reMarkable will be part of the Supply Chain team in Oslo, working both with ongoing Operations of existing products and ensuring success for New Product Introduction as a part of the Industrialization team. reMarkable has a global footprint, and you will contribute to development/ industrialization activities and securing operations with our contracted manufacturer (CM) and suppliers on the international arena. This position will require willingness to travel as our manufacturing network (suppliers/ partners) span across many different geographies.

In the early phases of New Product Development and Introduction (NPDI) projects your key task is to contribute to industrialization of the new products. You will work alongside the design team and provide the technical expertise to guide a design from initial concept to mass production to ensure the product to be launched is resilient by design and capable of consistently achieving a high standard of manufacturing and field quality when in mass production.

Together with our onsite Quality & Manufacturing team and Global Industrialization team, you will furthermore be responsible for managing the outcome of our contracted manufacturing partner and suppliers. Through your Quality & Manufacturing skill set, you will ensure robust manufacturing processes and high-quality products for our customers.

Further tasks and responsibilities

  • Provide inputs, feedback, and recommendations with regards to quality for new evolution/ designs, contribute to process/ control capability implementation, developing and implement quality control

  • Contribute to the development of the best possible processes in order to achieve large-scale production with minimum fall-off rate at capable suppliers & manufacturing partners

  • Inspecting and testing materials, equipment, processes, and products to ensure quality specifications are met

  • Provide inputs, feedback, and professional guidance with regard to chosen manufacturing processes and technologies

  • Assessing the design of the products or components (e.g DfX)

  • Contribute to the process of making Mech/Assy tooling

  • Ensure that the Process Control Plan is applied and consistent with Process FMEA and product specifications

  • Plan and coordinate/ perform Process audits, Process FMEAs, and associated corrective actions with a main focus on continuous improvement

  • Ensure quality control documentation, insure related training and application at CM/ EMS partners

  • Drive advanced problem solving and ensuring use of best practice quality metrics and tools is part of our and our suppliers’ way of working

  • Plan and coordinate/ perform failure analysis and quality issues resolution together with EMS/ CMs/ suppliers if needed

  • Actively seek and drive continuous improvement of respective products and processes

  • Contribute to implementing Value Engineering (pre-/post-release) opportunities

  • Flexibility in performing roles and activities across the product’s life cycle, both on the existing portfolio and in New Product Development and Introduction (NPDI) projects.

Who are you?

  • 5+ years of experience from high volume manufacturing industry e.g. consumer electronics, automation, energy management or similar

  • MSc in Engineering: Mechanical, Electronics, Industrial, Quality Management, or similar

  • Experience from Industrialization and New Product Introduction projects

  • Deep knowledge of Quality Management Tools (Advanced Problem solving, Continuous Improvement, APQP, Lean, statistical and analytics skills)

  • Quality and other Management Systems understanding (e.g. ISO 9001 and others)

  • DFx, FMEA knowledge

  • Clear communications skills, both verbal and written, also in a cross-cultural context

  • Experience working with Asian suppliers is a plus

  • Agile Way of Working

  • Experience with sustainability in supply chain is a plus

  • Language requirements: English (Professional Working Proficiency) is mandatory, Norwegian or other languages are a good advantage
