Design Researcher
Are you ready to work with user validation in teams developing quality product experiences?
reMarkable is a Norwegian tech company on a mission to help people think better in a distracted world. We recently confirmed our status as Norway’s latest unicorn, with over 300 employees in Oslo and a million devices sold worldwide. In what feels like no time, we've gone from a small startup finding its way to being one of the fastest-growing companies in Europe.
Following the successful launch of reMarkable 2, which was named one of TIME's top 100 inventions of 2020, and our new subscription service, Connect, in 2021, we've set ourselves exciting growth and product development goals for 2022. To help us get there, we need new colleagues ready to make a real difference through their work – and that’s where you come in.
The role
reMarkable is recruiting for the position of Design Researcher to support product development with concept validation. The process of product development in reMarkable starts with engineering prototypes and ends with mass production. Concept validation includes research activities involving existing and potential customers to understand how product concepts resonate with the target audience. Insight retrieved from the validation process plays a vital role in ensuring the final acceptance of our launched products.
You will be a part of different teams working on software and hardware development projects. The team can consist of several researchers or just one. As a team member, you will be responsible for the research activities with existing and potential customers to secure quality insight. You will own the overall product validation process with a fellow researcher or alone and proactively suggest research activities that provide insights into the team's unanswered questions. You will also work with Research Operation tasks like recruiting and scheduling for user testing and feedback sessions.
As a Design Researcher at reMarkable, you will be part of the Design Research subject - one of six under the Design department. The other subjects are User Experience (UX), Service, Visual, Product, and Mechanical Design.
