The team you will be joining
Sourcing & Procurement is part of the Supply Chain and Operations organization in reMarkable. The ambition and the role of our Sourcing & Procurement team is to develop and manage a world class supplier base with competitive terms and conditions, enabling reMarkable growth journey into a truly global tech company.
The team holds the global responsibility of defining category strategies, sourcing new suppliers, negotiating terms and conditions and managing and developing suppliers, supplier relationships and contracts enabling reMarkable to make stellar, innovative products at competitive prices superseding our customer’s expectations.

Mechanical Sourcing Manager in reMarkable
As a Sourcing Manager for Mechanical commodities, you work closely with our Design Engineers and Product Managers on new product development projects to set the commodity strategy and manage direct relationships with assigned Mechanical component manufacturers in the entire supplier lifecycle. You will report to the Head of Commodity Management, and you will be a key contributor to defining and maintaining the commodity strategy and will have a central role in planning, implementing and following up on strategic initiatives.

The role’s key responsibilities will be:

  • Drive the full source to contract process, including orchestrating cross functional supplier qualification
  • You will work closely with our supply chain and operations team to follow up with our active supply base of mechanical components on supply continuity
  • Responsible for monitoring supplier performance and ensure supplier compliance on regular basis
  • Responsible to continuously benchmark and negotiate best in class prices, terms and conditions with the overall supplier base
  • Responsible for driving cost improvement initiatives within your scope of commodities
  • You are expected to handle the balance between strategic focus and dealing with operational challenges in your work - when you see it fit

Also, in this role you will support a wider range of development projects in the Supply Chain domain, as well as across the company. You will be a part of setting and forming the company’s overall supply chain strategy by contributing to build and develop processes, tools and ways of working.

Who we believe will succeed in this role
First of all, we believe you hold strong process improvement, problem-solving, and communication skills. As an experienced sourcing and procurement professional, you excel in negotiating contracts and have a commercial mindset. You are pragmatic, analytical, as well as a team player. Working experience of ERP systems is a plus. Technical expertise in mechanical components and mass production suppliers, especially in the electronics industry is a differentiator. Your solid project management and business acumen enable you to handle stakeholders and dependencies. Established experience and proven track record of mechanical component sourcing and procurement is required, with a preference for a relevant degree within engineering, administration or equivalent.

Practical information

  • We will review applicants on a rolling basis
  • The role will require traveling, primarily to the Southeast Asia, estimated to be around two weeks each year
