reMarkable is growing rapidly and so is our need for data and analytics expertise. We have embarked on an exciting journey to develop a world class data and analytics capability, by implementing a target state for Data & Insight heavily inspired by the Data Mesh paradigm of distributed data ownership. We are leveraging a modern tech stack based on Google Cloud Platform and open source tools. Joining reMarkable as a Data Analyst, you will be given the opportunity to play a key part in establishing a leading Data & Insight community based on modern principles in one of Norway's most exciting companies.

Until recently, reMarkable has operated mainly through our own sales channel, selling directly to customers from remarkable.com. However, we’re currently transitioning from a D2C company into a multi-channel company. The indirect sales team is responsible for growing sales through retail and marketplaces.


About the role

As a Data Analyst in Indirect Sales you will be responsible for ensuring we make well-informed decisions on initiatives to improve sales and measure the profitability of our indirect sales channel. This responsibility covers tasks such as; advocating the value of data-driven decision making, helping business users ask the right questions, and use data and analytics in their day to day decisions and prioritization. To enjoy and succeed in the role of Data Analyst you must understand the business domain and not be afraid to leverage (or learn how to leverage) our tech stack for refining data to insight. You will be interacting with a broad range of stakeholders with different backgrounds and must therefore communicate clearly and tailor your presentations and visualizations to the audience.


Main areas of responsibility are:

  • Work with management in the indirect sales team to assess, prioritize, develop and act on insight to solve business problems within the following areas:

    • Overall performance and profitability of the indirect sales channel

    • Assess performance and ROI on initiatives to improve sales, e.g. training programs

    • Assess and recommend optimal pricing strategy across channels

  • Develop and design new analytics data sets (data products) for business user consumption

  • Develop dashboards to understand sales quantity, drivers and profitability in the indirect sales channel

  • Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets, including using statistical techniques to determine cause and effect

  • Help business users understand the value of data driven decision making and help them in asking the right questions in order to make insight actionable


We find that you will have success in this role if you have the following experience and skills:

  • 3+ years of experience as a Data Analyst or from a similar role

  • Bachelor degree in a relevant field

  • You are analytical and can decompose complex problems, sort out the noise and ask the right questions to work on challenges and opportunities

  • Hands on experience using Looker or similar BI tool, including modeling and visualization of data

  • Extensive experience with SQL and building data models (data products) for analytical purposes. Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform is a plus

  • Fundamental understanding of data wrangling, statistics and regression models

  • You have a business mindset. Experience with analyzing sales and drivers of sales in a retail channel is a benefit

  • Experience helping business users become more data driven and you enjoy supporting and enabling other people through data and insight
