The recruitment process
After the application round: Yes. All applicants will receive and email with information about further process. Fortunately for us, we often get many good applicants for our positions, and it is therefore unlikely that we are able to give personalised feedback to all applicants. The assessments are based on the requirements set for the job and our current needs, as well as competition from strong candidates.
After the interview: Yes.
Many of our interviews are now held by video. You will receive an e-mail invitation with a link to our system. You do not need to download any software – but below are a few tips that may help:
- Check your internet connection: https://www.speedtest.net/
- Find a quiet place to sit where you won’t be disturbed
- Test your microphone and speakers before you start
Having you compile a practical task (or work sample as we call it) gives us a better understanding of how you think and solve tasks. You get an idea of what it is like to work with your potential new colleagues. A little taste of what’s to come.
Work samples give us tools to focus on what really matters to perform our role with us. They are also excellent tools for reducing and combating unconscious bias and discrimination.
Please read through the assignment we send, and contact us immediately if you have any questions.
Diversity and inclusion
We will create and maintain an inclusive and respectful culture where everyone can fully and completely be themselves.
We believe that diversity is a strong driving force. It makes us creative and innovative, provides fertile ground for productive discussions and widens our horizons. This enables us to deliver better services to our customers and connects us more closely to the society of which we are a part. We believe in creating a culture where employees are encouraged to explore new perspectives and feel confident in expressing their opinions.
At reMarkable, we strive to ensure that all employees feel included, valued, fairly treated and that everyone has the same opportunities.
reMarkable issues yearly reports of the work we are doing in the field of equality and anti-discrimination. You can read our reports for 2022, 2021 and 2020 below:

Language requirements
The short answer is no. Our official language requirement at reMarkable is English and all major meetings and internal communications are in English.
The long answer; we recently removed Norwegian as a requirement. Even though we have many non-native scandinavians on our team, most have good comprehension. So it's important to be comfortable working in an environment where we still do some day-to-day business and socialising in Norwegian.
